Estonian Research Council is looking for a writer
Researchinestonia.eu is a website that introduces Estonian science, its primary target groups are foreign researchers and doctoral students. The website gives information about the Estonian science system, funding and events. An important part of the site is the news feed, which features articles about exciting and innovative topics and advances in Estonian science, with the goal of reaching a wider international audience.
Articles written for the website are also shared through Research in Estonia social media channels (currently Facebook and Twitter), which, in addition to researchers, also target foreign journalists and the general public.
Research in Estonia is looking for a writer who would produce original texts about Estonian science.
The writer should produce 3 articles in English per month. The length of one article should be 4000-5000 characters (without spaces).
Start with the cooperation: February 2020.
Research in Estonia expect the writer to write stories during February 2020 – December 2020 (incl.) In case of good partnership there is the possibility to exceed the contract by two years (till the end of 2022). Extra articles (for additional compensation) could also be ordered under mutual agreement.

To apply for the Research in Estonia writer’s position, please present the following by 25 January 2020 the latest:
- Curriculum vitae that gives an overview of your previous education and work experience
- Links to two popular science articles in English that you have written and that have been published (or PDF-s).
- Short article (ca 3000 characters) in English about a freely chosen topic in Estonian science. The article must be grammatically correct and follow the structure and coherence of a good popular science article. With the article we would also like to get a short process description (max. half a page) of writing this article (how you found and chose the topic, etc.)
- Price request per one article.
